Beloit Senior Center:
The Beloit Senior Center offers a variety of programs and services to help senior citizens maintain their independence and to provide a place for seniors to have the opportunity to meet other seniors through social interaction.
The Beloit Senior Center has been offering Friendship Meals to Seniors at the Center for over 40 years, including a Meals-on-Wheels program for those who are confined to their home. When MCHHS stopped housing the Meals-On-Wheels program several years ago, the Beloit Senior Center picked up those meals more than tripling the number of patrons that needed to be served daily. Recently, the Senior Center Board began to realize that expanding the Beloit Senior Center to include preparing the meals in-house. Currently, all Friendship Meals for the Mitchell County Senior Centers in Glen Elder, Beloit, Cawker City, and Tipton are prepared in Glen Elder and then delivered to the three other sites. Preparing meals in-house will result in a more efficient and sustainable situation overall for the senior population in Beloit.

Mitchell County Auxiliary:
Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Ladies Auxiliary celebrated 55 years of service in May 2021. The organization as it is today, started with a small group of women and has grown to over 50 active volunteers.
The funds raised by the MCHHS Auxiliary throughout the year are allocated for various projects in the hospital. Some funds are set aside for recurring projects to include events for the Resident Care Center and scholarships to area students who are pursuing a medical career. Each year a donation is made to go towards a new project in the hospital. They also work in collaboration with Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems to provide an annual Teddy Bear Clinic for kindergarten students every fall.
The ladies' auxiliary has not only donated monetary items to the hospital throughout the years, but the most important donations are the volunteer hours by many generous residents in our counties. Our volunteers come from all over the area including Beloit, Tipton, Hunter, Glen Elder, Cawker City, Jewell, and Simpson. Volunteer hours are spent in the Gift Shop at the hospital and in the Economy Shop located at the Beloit Municipal Building.
The Economy Shop brings in an average profit of over $30,000 each year, thanks to the generosity of area citizens. The merchandise is all donated and the shop is staffed by volunteers. Currently, the Economy Shop is located on the 2nd floor of the Beloit Municipal Building.
